Bugnara is a medieval village just 8 minutes from the local town of Sulmona in the province of L'Aquila in the region of Abruzzo. The region of Abruzzo is an outdoor enthusiasts dream, with both mountains and a sandy beach coastline.
Boasting three National Parks and 129km of sandy beach coastline, as well as 21 ski areas with 368km of runs.
The Region covers 10794 square Km, almost two thirds of which is mountainous.
The remainder of the land consists of hills sloping to a narrow plain that runs for most of the 129km long Adriatic coastline.
The Apennine mountain chain runs through the Abruzzo where it reaches its greatest elevations on the Italian peninsular; the highest peaks being Corno Grande 2914m (Gran Sasso Massif) and Monto Amaro 2795m (Majella-group).
